Who we are

What we collect
- Details you send us. When you use a form, email us or call, we receive what you give us: typically your name, email address, phone number, business name, website address and your message.
- Context for your enquiry. The page you were on when you sent the form, and, if you arrived from an advert or link carrying campaign tags, those tags.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as IP address and browser type in server logs, for security and reliability.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information through this website, and please do not send it.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare what you asked for, a review, a quote, a call back. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To provide services to clients, on the basis of our contract with them.
- To keep the website secure and working, on the basis of our legitimate interests.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping business records.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you sent an enquiry.
The local SEO scorecard
If you use our scorecard, your score is worked out in your own browser from the answers you choose. Nothing is sent to us unless you decide to send your answers with your contact details, in which case we use them to reply to you about them.
Nominations
If you nominate a business through our movement page, we use the business details you give us to contact that business about a free review, and your details to tell them who nominated them unless you ask us not to.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers who help us run the business, for example website hosting, email and customer-record systems, and only so they can provide that service to us. Some providers may process information outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and for our business records, and delete them when they are no longer needed. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: confirm what information we hold about you and give you a copy; correct it; delete it; restrict or stop our use of it; and, in some cases, transfer it. To make a request, email contact@yorkseo-agency.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
