Every day, people across York and North Yorkshire search for something a local business sells. Too often the answer is a directory, a marketplace or a chain from somewhere else. We think that should change, and we are building a movement of local businesses to change it.
The manifesto
Six things we believe.

A local search deserves a local answer
When someone in York searches for a plumber, a table or a solicitor, the best result is usually a business down the road, not a directory, a marketplace or a chain. We work to make that the result they get.
Being good is not enough. You have to be findable
The best café in town loses to an average one with a better-kept profile. That is not fair, but it is fixable, and fixing it is our job.
Evidence, not promises
Nobody controls Google. So we make no guarantees, publish work you can inspect and report in numbers you can check.
Customers you own, not customers you rent
Lead sites, delivery apps and portals charge you for your own customers. Your profile, your website and your reviews are assets nobody can take a cut of.
Every town on its own terms
Harrogate is not Selby, and Malton is not Wetherby. Each place searches differently, so each one deserves real attention rather than a copied page.
When independents are easy to find, the whole high street gains
A town where local businesses show up in search keeps more of its spending. That is worth working for.
